Hard At Work With Virtuoso In Singapore
To be one of only 30 owner/managers in Australasia to be invited to attend the Virtuoso Forum was a pretty big deal. The 1-day event prior to the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Conference covered off on updates and trends in the luxury travel market and within the Virtuoso community and network.
The following 4-day ILTM Asia Pacific Conference was a mind-blowing event!
It certainly lived up to its reputation and was the most beneficial work event I've ever been involved in.
Attending as a buyer, the exposure to new ways of travel and up and coming destinations combined with the limitless opportunities to network with local ground operators, cruise lines and tourism offices was invaluable for me to share with you.
I have already used one of the contacts that I met during the conference to arrange a once in a lifetime experience for a client in Italy that for years has been unattainable. Its networking like this that enables me to enhance my clients' trips from great to unforgettable!
I stayed at St Regis and Conrad Centennial and discovered some great places to dine, drink and relax.
Some of my best moments were...
- Eating chicken satay sticks and a cold beer on the street at Lau Pa Sat
- Enjoying a high-end cocktail at The Atlas Bar
- Hearing for the first time about Nimmo Bay (British Columbia, Canada) and meeting the General Manager of this remote Wilderness Resort
